The Institute for Digital Technology and Economy, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, announces the recruitment of PhD candidates (doctoral researchers) for the 2026 intake. Candidates will study and work full-time at the Institute in the fields of digital technology, digital economy, and data science, within an interdisciplinary research environment with opportunities to participate in real-world technology projects.

Expected intake: 5 PhD candidates

Applicants will apply to Hanoi University of Science and Technology and conduct their research at the Institute in the following disciplines:

• Computer Science
• Business Administration
• Industrial Management
• Economics

Research topics at the Institute are interdisciplinary in nature, for example:

The Institute is an interdisciplinary research and training unit with faculty members and researchers from:

• School of Information and Communication Technology
• School of Economics
• Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics

• AI in Economics and Management
• Data Science

PhD candidates will engage in a research environment that integrates academic research with real-world product development.

4. Requirements

Applicants must meet the PhD admission requirements of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and additionally satisfy the following criteria:

Academic performance: Applicants must meet one of the following GPA requirements:
• Bachelor’s/Engineering degree: GPA ≥ 3.4/4.0
• Master’s degree: GPA ≥ 3.2/4.0

Research capability:
• At least one accepted publication in a peer-reviewed academic journal (recognized by the State Professor Council of Vietnam) or a peer-reviewed conference

English proficiency:
• Equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher

Commitment:
• Full-time participation as a PhD candidate at the Institute
• Active involvement in research, training, and other professional activities assigned by the Institute’s leadership

5. Priority Candidates

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• Are young candidates (under 30 years old)
• Have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and wish to pursue a PhD immediately
• Demonstrate clear academic and career development goals
• Show strong commitment and long-term dedication
• Are available to start working at the Institute immediately
